TURBOPOWER® Module Corrosion Protection

For maximum thermal strength, we use a steel combustion chamber.
To protect the water-backed chamber from corrosion, we apply a three-step process. Step one is a white metal blasting of the entire module. Step two is a layer of arc-sprayed copper. Because the thickness and density characteristics of this layer are critical to the success of the anti-corrosion system, we employ a 6-axis robot to ensure absolute consistency over the many square inches of steel surface. The non-ferrous, arc-sprayed base layer is a porous matrix that we then infuse with PTFE (a fluoropolymer best known as the surface of non-stick cookware). After oven-curing, this system permanently seals the module against any possible contact with potable water.

We complete the heat exchanger by rolling u-bend, solid-copper firetubes into the front and rear tubesheets.
